Another wonderful day in Neopia.... SaharaSam, my Christmas Kougra, was joining
me that day while her siblings, Kolora_2001, a blue Acara, Sydriia, a red Gelert,
and Amialika, a red Mynci, stayed home for the day to plant a new garden for
All day, SaharaSam always talked about how much she heard of the Wheel of
Excitement from other NeoPets and how she longed to go there someday. I thought
to myself, Why don't I take SaharaSam to the Wheel today? She's wanted to
SaharaSam asked where we were going as we walked (or should I say, flew),
to Faerieland. Finally, we arrived at the wheel. SaharaSam stared at it with
awe, the mesmerising faeries spinning that oh-so colourful wheel. Sahara told
me, "This looks like fun!" And smiled the biggest grin.
We stepped up for our turn, wondering what we'll get... 10,000 NP? 2,000?
Mystery prize? As the wheel began to turn, I noticed the "prize" with a skull
on it... disease. I had completely forgotten about it as my other pets had never
landed on that. I shrugged my shoulders and thought nothing of it since I've
never received that prize before.
The wheel began to come to a stop, and the clicking began to decease. I opened
my eyes and there was the skull. I turned to Sahara, and to my horror she looked
awful! Red bumps began to sprout on her, her eyes looked droopy and she looked
disoriented and swollen! I rushed her to the Neopian hospital and continued
to blame myself as I looked at my beloved pet suffering. I brought her to Emergency
and the Elephante told me, "SaharaSam has the Itchy Scratchies, a disease where
red bumps emerge. It can be cured easily if you buy the Itchy
Scratchy Cream. See if the Pharmacy has any in stock."
With tears in my eyes, I phoned home and told my other pets, that SaharaSam
was sick. They all cried and stopped planting and met me at the pharmacy where
I had no luck in finding the cream Sahara so needed. Amialika, tugged at my
pant leg and said, "Why don't you try the Shop Wizard?" Of course! The wonderful
Shop Wizard! With his help, I found the cream and cured Sahara.
After my experience, I wanted to help others if this should ever happen to
1. Do not panic. Your pet will feel reassured if you do not panic.
2. Look at the symptoms your pet is having and if needed give some
essentials before departing for the hospital (e.g. Dehydration, give water.
Shivers, put on clothing).
3. Take your pet to the hospital and diagnose it, and find out how
to cure it.
4. Call your other pets if you have any and explain the situation.
5. Take your pet to the pharmacy, if the medicine they need is not
there, use the Shop Wizard.
6. DO NOT BLAME YOURSELVES. It was not your fault, you just wanted
to give your pet a good time, but of course, everything has its risks.
7. If possible do not bring this pet back to the Wheel as it is very
traumatising for them. Sahara does not want to go there anymore, unfortunately.
I bring my other pets that share their prize with her.
I hope this helped you if you and your pet ever receive the downside of the
Wheel, disease. Thank you.
